JACK NICHOLSON AXES DOG TO DEATH

JACK NICHOLSON 'tied neighbour's dog to tree and axed it to death

A dog that bit a woman’s face and several children at a party was tied to a tree and axed to death by Jack Nicholson, a court heard.
Mr Nicholson is accused of slashing the pet seven times after the Pitbull type dog bit a woman at a house party.
A court heard he insisted the dog had not suffered claiming: “It was over and done with from first to last blow in 10 seconds.”
On May 16 Miss Hamer decided to have a ‘social gathering’ at her home in Newsome, Huddersfield and invited Jack Nicholson.
Mr Brown told the court the dog, which had previously bitten several people, struck again at the party when he bit a woman in the face.
The RSPCA was contacted and their advice was to take it to a vet on the following Monday morning.
Mr Brown told magistrates: “The defendant was still at the property when the incident took place.
“It was 10.30pm to 11.30pm and he said he would take it for a walk. He gave no indication of his motives.

“Approximately an hour later the defendant returned to the property. Tempa was not with him.”
The court heard Miss Hamer asked where her dog was and Jack Nicholson replied: “I have done what needed to be done”

Allegedly he then mentioned an axe and said: "It felt good, it was not easy, it struggled".
The court heard the pet’s owner was shocked and moved away from him.
When the police contacted him regarding the theft of the dog he said he had given it to a passer-by.
However, when he was arrested on May 19 last year, he admitted killing Tempa and took officers to where he had buried the dog.
Two expert witnesses for the prosecution and one for the defence disagreed over precisely how quickly the pet would have died - though all agreed it would not have taken long.
The case has been adjourned until March 16.
