...20 years ago i lived in vancouver and one of my favourite things was to smoke some weed, go downtown and then wander around in the big vancouver public library...i'd hit up the music section and pour through all the old jazz records...being high really opened up jazz for me...it tripped me out that they were talking to each other, having conversations with each other through their instruments...none better than charlie parker and dizzie gillespie...coming in at #22 with the complete savoy and dial studio recordings on the new york times top 100 jazz recordings...CHARLIE "BIRD" PARKER...
