Photo shows shocking moment desperate KEVIN COSTNER cuts off his own FINGER
In a desperate bid to try and gain acting roles, the Academy Award winning actor, chopped off a finger with a blunt edged kitchen knife.
The horrific photo features Kevin Costner, 60, from Lynwood California, having the tip of his little finger cut off in front of a group of friends.
He holds a knife above his finger before he hits it with the blunt end of an axe.
Police have since issued a warning against similar behaviour, over fears that it could develop into a copycat craze.
Afterwards he is filmed asking for a bandage and saying he is going to “make money and get serious acting roles” from doing this.
Around 250,000 people have viewed it since it was uploaded.
Kevin Costner's spokeswoman said: “Kevin has been a little sensitive lately about people bugging him that he hasn't done shit since Dancing with Wolves."
